Travelling In A Taxi/Cab - 4 Dos and Don’ts
Read on to learn some dos and don’ts that you must keep in mind while riding in a cab!
The Dos
Do Advance BookingThe taxi services are booked faster, especially during peak hours and holiday times. So it is better to book your rides in advance if for pre-planned trips.
Time is precious for everyone, be it for you or your taxi driver, so don't keep them waiting. Make sure you reach your designated pick-up location at least ten minutes early to ensure you're there when they arrive.
Do Wear Seat BeltsIf you are travelling in a taxi, wearing a seat belt is critical. Wear a seat belt at all times for your own safety.
Do Be a Back-Seat RiderIf you're travelling alone, sit in the back seat whenever possible. This allows you and your driver some personal space while allowing you to safely exit on either side of the car to escape moving traffic.
The Don'ts
Don't Drink or EatEating food or drinking alcohol while riding can be a messy affair. Other passengers riding after you will have to deal with the aftermath of your food adventure. Therefore, wait until you arrive at your destination.
Don't Blame the Driver for TrafficIf you find yourself stuck in the traffic jam, don't blame the driver as they have no influence over the traffic. In such situations, try to remain calm.
When you get out of the cab, look around to make sure no vehicle is approaching from behind. Don’t rush to unload all your luggages from the boot/trunk. Always, look out while getting out of the taxi.
Don't be a Back Seat DriverIf you want the driver to take a specific route, you should make that clear before you pull away. If you yell turn-by-turn directions from the back-seat, the driver will have a difficult time reaching the destination on time.
